Really hard.
This week, my weekday runs are 4 miles, 8 miles and 4 miles. The day before my long run I'm supposed to do another 8 miles and then the long run this week is 17 miles.
Yikes.
I was ok with the moderate length run the day before the long run for the first few weeks. I haven't really done it the last few weeks. I think I'll try to do 5 the day before the 17, but I'm kind of scared to do 8 the day before 17.
I've got to be honest, I'm pretty nervous about the rest of the training. These next two weeks will be fine because school hasn't started. Once school starts, it's going to be really hard to get these miles in during the week. I'm going to have to get up at the crack of dawn to get it done. There will be NO way I will want to get the miles in after working a full day the first few weeks of school. It will also be HOT by that time of day.
Breathe in .... breathe out...
I remember when we signed up for this race, how uneasy I felt the next morning! This is why...
Do you like my new home? I really do. It took a long time for me to think of a name. But I felt that "My race, my pace" really encapsulated everything I wanted this blog to be about. I am no expert in any arena, but I do know what's worked for me and I am all too happy to share. On this note, I am back to using My Fitness Pal (again) My user name is trptchick, if any of you are on it, please friend me! It takes a village and I love knowing I'm being held accountable by like-minded peeps. I'm hoping to get to a group run at The Running Depot on Satruday at 7am. They have runs on Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 7am. Don't be afraid to come out and get your miles in with some really great people!
Have an awesome week, friends! By the time I write next, I'll have gotten my 17 and 18 mile runs in and hopefully I'll have some losses in the weight department. I've seen a number on the scale that I vowed I wouldn't see again. I'm definitely not feeling so comfortable in my clothes lately. More on that next time. It never gets easier...
